As an African American Muslim man who values equality and stability, my purpose in life is to combine my strengths in communication, cooking, and listening with my love for making people happy, to help people who are in need of the basic things in life like food, shelter, and clothing. I started learning to cook at the age of 11, which laid the foundation for my culinary journey. During the pandemic, I began cooking for my family more often, as my mom was working a lot. In 10th grade, I took my first culinary class with Chef Jamela, which ignited my passion for cooking. By 11th grade, I took on a leadership role in the culinary class and started an internship at Victoria's Kitchen. My hard work paid off when I got hired at Victoria's Kitchen, and at the age of 17, I began cooking for friends and family, further honing my skills and sharing my love for food.
